The two were already pretty well-known folk singers, but their fame expanded exponentially following their tryst with Bollywood. We’re sure we will be hearing a lot more from them in the coming years.

Jyoti Nooran and Sultana Nooran from Jalandhar are an absolute treasure for Bollywood. The sufi folk singers were a find of AR Rahman who got them to sing the brilliant and unforgettable Patakha Guddi in the film Highway. And it was all success from thereon. The sisters have sung numerous songs in big films like Sultan, Dangal, Jab Harry Met Sejal, Dum Laga Ke Haisha and most recently, Tiger Zinda Hai.

Wadali Brothers

The Wadali brothers started their Bollywood careers with Pinjar

The soulful sufi music of Wadali Brothers is mesmerising, to say the least. Hailing from Amritsar, the brothers started their Bollywood careers with Pinjar which came out in 2003. Their most recent performances came in Tanu Weds Manu and Mausam which were released in 2011.

This Rajasthani folk singer came into prominence after becoming one of the top 10 contestants in a season of Indian Idol. He has since given his voice to a number of hits in Bollywood. The famous Ghoomar song from Padmaavat was his most recent contribution, while his past performances include those in Mukkabaaz, Dhanak, Filmistaan and PK.
