According to The Sun UK, Tony Boyd, 23, from Troon, Ayrshire, is now understood to be back in the UK after being released on bail by American authorities. The medical student is reportedly accused of firing a gun during an attack on his vet girlfriend Sophie Kelly.
The alleged incident is said to have happened just weeks after she moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin, to start a new job, according to the Daily Record.
Sophie, who was born in Fife, told the paper: “When over here, he attacked myself and a friend of mine and fired a gun at us. “He was arrested and put in the county jail.”
The alleged victim, who has also reportedly worked as a model, said she had been dating Boyd for several months.

And after shelling out a reported £11,000 for bail, he is said to have been allowed to return to Scotland to continue his studies while awaiting his trial.
Court papers reportedly read: “In exchange to the agreed-upon bail, the state will not be requesting that the defendant turn over his passport.” But he was ordered not to touch alcohol or contact Sophie as strict conditions for his release, it was reported.
Court papers are quoted as saying: “Absolute sobriety, defendant is not to possess or consume any alcohol.” Boyd is said to be facing one charge of discharging a firearm, two charges of battery and another charge of criminal damage to property.
As well as studying medicine, he also reportedly runs a company called Nero Apparel in Glasgow. Sophie is said to have regularly modelled for the brand.
