A 27 -year-old man, Innocent Pitman, who is standing trial for allegedly beating up his Father , was on Wednesday granted Bail by Grade 1 Area Court , Abuja .
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the judge, Mr. Aliyu Kagarko , admitted Innocent to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum for allegedly assaulting his father , Isaac Pitman.

Innocent is facing two counts bordering on assault , which is said to contravene sections 79 and 265 of the Penal Code .
The accused had pleaded not guilty to the charges .
The judge said the surety must be resident within the court ’ s jurisdiction and must also submit his driving licence or national identity card, as well as passport photographs.
Earlier , the prosecutor , Mahmud Ismail , told the court that Isaac reported Innocent at the Jikwoyi Police Station on December 24 , 2017.
He said Isaac reported that the accused and his brother, Humprey Pitman, who is still at large , jointly assaulted him .
“ The two sons of the complainant tied him and beat him up .
“ They assaulted him because he warned them to stop disturbing the peace of the neighbourhood with their criminal acts , ” Ismail said .
The case was adjourned till January 29 , 2018, for hearing .
