25-year-old Cara Delevingne managed to succeed both in the fashion and movie industries. She is always smiling, joking around and seems like a cheerful person who never faced serious problems. However, it is not so: depression, suicidal thoughts — Delevingne frankly told about all this in the new edition of The Edit.

“When I was a teen, I hated myself for being depressed. I hated the feeling of oppression.  When someone told me something unpleasant, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and then hated myself. I didn’t understand what was happening to me at that moment and I no longer wanted to live,” – shared her experience Delevingne.

According to Kara, the situation was complicated by the fact that her close friends didn’t want to listen to the model. Noone took her frankness seriously:

“When I tried to talk to people about it, they wouldn’t listen. Many of my friends used to say: “How can you possibly feel this way? You’re so lucky!”. And I thought: “I know, trust me, I know. I know that I’m the happiest girl in the world, I get this. I wish I could appreciate it.”

It took a lot of time for Cara to understand herself and her feelings but she finally managed to do this. Now, though friends play a huge role in her life, the girl prefers to search for happiness going her own way.

“Now all this became just the feelings inside of me. I always loved my best friends but if someone gets too close I am afraid that he won’t manage to bare me as I am too crazy. I know it sounds silly but I always overly rely on love and other people to make me happy. I need to learn to be happy by myself, without the help of others. So now when I’m alone I know that I can be happy. It took me a long time to understand this,” – said Cara Delevingne in the interview.
