Ajibade was born on December 8 in Maiduguri, Bornu State to a family of six children where he is the fourth child . He is originally a native of Kogi state, Gbenro was born in Maidugiri, but grew up in Benue state. He is the fourth child born into a family of six children including Jude Ige Ajibade. His acting career kick started while he was in high school and that was where he decided to pursue a career in Nollywood because he was a fan of Nollywood.
