Early Life and Background

Stella Damasus was born on April 24, 1978 in Benin City, Edo State in Nigeria. She is from a family of four, she grew up in Benin City with her siblings and she completed most of her primary education. She relocated to Asaba in Delta State Nigeria with her family where she finished her secondary school education and successfully obtained her senior secondary school certificate.

After completing her formal education and bagging her secondary school certificate, she proceeded to University of Lagos and graduated with a degree in Theatre arts .

Career and Success

Stella Damasus initially started her career as a singer in Lagos state , Nigeria where she used to work as a studio session singer at the famous Klink Studios owned by filmmaker Kingsley Ogoro. She spent several years there trying to nurture her singing skills and she went on to do vocals for the top jingles on radio and TV in Nigeria at that time.

She graduated from University of Lagos where she obtained a degree in Theatre arts. She officially launched her acting career in the Nigerian film Abused in 1992. She gained massive recognition when she got her second movie role in the movie Breaking Point produced by Emem Isong and directed by Francis Agu . A 1992 film Abused was the movie that shot into superstardom across Nigeria. After starring in the movie, she was reached out by many movie producers and subsequently got many other movie roles , that was how she became an household name in the Nigeria movie industry.

Damasus has appeared in not less than 100 movies . She is presently the co-founder of I2radio and hosts two podcast shows, undiluted with Stella damasus and when women praise.

Personal Life and Marriage

Damascus had been into several marriages, she said she met her first husband, Jaiye at Jazzville in Onike in Yaba in Lagos. Jaiye is the son of Chief Olu Aboderin, the founder of the Punch Newspaper. They officially tied the knot in 1999 and they were blessed with two children together – Isabelle and Angelica but Jaiye died of a heart failure in December 2004.

Jaiye Aboderin let her when she was only 26 years old, her husband died when their first child, Isabel was 5 while their second daughter, Angelica was 2 years old . The deceased was 33 years old when he passed. According to reports, he was playing basketball with his friends when he collapsed and died at the spot.

In year 2007, Damascus remarried and this time she got married top Emeka Nzeribe but the marriage hit the rock just few years after their wedding. The cause of the failed marriage was based on a mutual decision by both parties to divorce.

There was speculations that Stella Damascus left Emeka Nzeribe over allegations of incompatibility, infidelity and disrespect to marital vows. She also took to her social media account to say that she was verbally abused in the marriage which was one of the reason she walked out of the marriage.

Fast forward to year 2011, the actress was romantically involved with Nollywood producer & director Daniel Ademinokan. He is a popular producer who was formerly married to actress, Doris Simeon. They eventually took it to the next level in 2014 by tying the knot and saying their vows to each other. Aside being romantic partners, they are also business partners. They founded an online television station, Mon Afrik TV in December 2015 .
