Jidenna Theodore Mobisson popularly called by his stage name “Jidenna” was born on May 4, 1985 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to Tama Mobisson, a white accountant, and Oliver Mobisson, a Nigerian Igbo academic. Young Jidenna was bred in two countries which is United States and Nigeria, his father was working as a professor of computer science at Enugu State University. They later moved back to United States when the young musician was six years old following a kidnap attempt. After some times, they relocated to Norwood, Massachusetts, and then to Milton, Massachusetts, in 2000. His father died in 2010 and he was introduced to how to fed for himself that was how the music hustle began many years back.

While he was in high school, he co-founder a rap group called “Black Spadez”, and began producing, arranging and writing.
