Bhubaneswar: The government has started the preparation.
According to the latest update of weather report, Cyclone Fani is moving towards the Odisha coast.
Official report says that Fani can worsen into an ” extremely severe cyclone” by today. The government has put the National Disaster Response Forse and the Indian Coast Guard on high alert.
The Indian Navy inform , they are ready for assistance in case of any emergency. The Indian Navy has completed their preparation with additional divers, doctors, inflatable rubber boats and relief materials.
The Indian Navy informed that aircrafts are also ready by at Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh air station, to undertake casualty evacuation, reconnaissance, rescue and air drop of relief material to the trapped if required.
According to Indian Meteorological Department ADG Mrityunjay Mohapatra told that Cyclone Fani is continuously speeding up. Today noon (April 30) Fani speed is around 125 to 135 kmph.
It is estimated that Fani will be hiting Odisha cost near Puri with estimated speed of 170 to 180 kmph.
“From the current trend of the cyclone, we suspect that the storm may pass through Odisha coastline between Puri and Balasore, so all concerned district authorities have been directed to remain alert to face any eventuality,” said Sethi.
