Muslim Fiction: My Hijab, My Pride (Episode 4) An interesting Islamic Fiction by Shukurat bint Abdul Hameed.

  MY HIJAB,MY PRIDE.

         EPISODE 4

When I finished my secondary school, I didn't made all my results. I was so sad and devastated, thinking that I'm hopeless. It was Abu who encouraged me. If you are not gaining admission the year you finished your secondary school, it's not the end of the world. You can always try your best and remember you are not the holder of your destiny. Allah's  will may be different from yours. Maybe he's planning something greater for you .even if you did gain admission this year what if something happens to you, what if you can't cope and what if you finish your so called tertiary education and you can't get a job, then what is the essence ? my dear you must always say Alhamdullillah for every situation you find yourself, you can do better next year, and besides you are just 14, gaining admission next year is not too bad for you just make sure you work harder.
Jazakumullahu kayran Abu. Wa antum fajazakumullahu kayran my daughter.
I listened and adhere to my ABU's instructions. I atttend tutorial classes ,read at home and create some leisure time for myself because all work with no play makes Jack a dull boy. Normally I don't like sitting idly at home. I proposed the idea of learning informal education to Abu, he objected at first but later approved of it when he listened to my explanation.
OK what kind of informal education do you want to learn? Abu I would love to learn Taloring, are you sure of that? I'm absolutely sure sir. OK are you sure you can endure the tasks ahead of you. I will Insha Allah. OK now tell me why do you choose to learn Taloring?. Nothing much Abu, do you know that westernization as brought more harms than good to Islam in terms of dressing. Islam has its own Islamic dressing isn't it? Yes we do Abu answered my so why don't we show the world that we are happy with our dress, it's our pride, it's our dignity and everything else. If I should be able to learn more about sewing Islamic dressing Insha Allah I will influence the entire ummah with it by enticing them positively into buying the clothes at cheaper price for their own convenience . I know that is going to cost me alot, actually I'm not doing that for my own personal gain alone, I'm doing it for allah, myself and the entire ummah. There are much more to it but the event will unfold itself when the time comes and that will be a great surprise to you which will make you to be very proud of me Insha Allah.
When I started the training it was difficult at first, because I'm not used to that kind of life but with sabur (patience) I later adapt and fall in love with the job .
For the little time I went there I was able to sew ijabs, jilbab, niqab, and normal dresses.
.................      ............
Fortunately I was able to come out in flying colours when I did my Waec and jamb the following year, I was very happy for the fact that I will be furthering my education.
.................        ..........
To be continue Insha Allah.
