Michael Jackson’s Family Blasts Quincy Jones For Claiming He ‘Stole’ Hit Songs

Michael Jackson’s father blasted Quincy Jones for saying the King of Pop stole his Billie Jean hook from a Donna Summer song.

During a very candid Vulture interview recently, The legendary producer let rip hammered acts like U2 and the Beatles and stated the hook from Jackson’s pop anthem is identical to Summer’s song State of Independence.

But Joe Jackson insists Quincy is way off  even though he produced both tracks.

Quincy Jones [should] know better,” Joe tells TMZ, suggesting his son wrote all his own originals and never had to steal riffs, melodies or beats.

Meanwhile, the controversy over the two songs has led to a surge in sales for the late Summer – herState of Independence hit was streamed online 150 000 times in the 48 hours since Quincy‘s interview debuted last week.

That’s a rise of 12 000 per cent, according to Billboard.

The song was released months before Jackson’s Billie Jean hit the top of the charts around the world in 1983.
