According to the BBC, the Football Authority of Nigeria was fined by FIFA, the governing body of world football, allowing the unacceptable player to field in his last group match against Algeria.
Although suspended for taking the Yellow cards in the first two games, Abdullahi Shehu played a match against Algeria.
The defender was shown with a yellow card in Zambia in October, which marked Nigerian qualification. He has already picked a yellow card in the first round of the second round against Swaziland in 2015.
