President Muhammadu Buhari expressed condolences to the Egyptian people after the attack on the mosque in northern Sinai, which left many dead after Friday prayers.
According to the Guardian, at least 235 people died after activists attacked.
Only at the end of Friday's prayer was when the bomb exploded in the Mosque. The military source who talked with the Guardian said that the militants of four road vehicles approached and opened fire on believers.
Witnesses say there were 20 armed men, and at least 130 people were injured.
Buhari's sympathy message was made in a statement by his special media and advertising assistant, Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Friday.
