Listen to a Playlist of Paris Fashion Week’s Best Runway Music

Paris Fashion Week may be first and foremost about the clothes, but the right soundtrack can be the secret ingredient that makes a runway show unforgettable. Spring 2018, as per usual, had its fair share of memorable musical moments: Yohji Yamamoto continued with tradition by making his own music (which he’s done for years), while other fashion stalwarts decided to shake things up a bit, with track lists covering everything from newer experimental artists like FKA Twigs to underrated classics like Kim Wilde’s “Cambodia.”
Overall, the week was a showcase for a wide variety of genres. While there were some safe, lovely orchestral soundtracks, models at Miu Miu walked down the runway to Bikini Kill’s riot grrrl rock, while Balenciaga’s track list included the moody trip-hop classic “Angel” by Massive Attack to reflect a collection Demna Gvasalia called “something more vicious.” Below, listen to a playlist of some of the best songs from Paris Fashion Week.
