We are engineers and we can do anything and everything. We can even change the world the way we changed our life”. Yes, someone said it right, isn’t it? There are many preconceived stereotypes about engineers that simply aren’t true. Individuals shouldn’t be ashamed of who they are, but rather, they should embrace what makes them different and use that to accomplish their lifelong goals and dreams. What makes you different is what makes you unique. If you are good at something, it is never late to make a mark in that field, and no matter what your educational qualification is, you are bound to succeed.

1. Chetan Bhagat
Chetan Bhagat is an Indian author, columnist, screenwriter, television personality and motivational speaker, known for his English-language dramedy novels about young urban middle-class Indians. He is a Mechanical Engineer at the Indian Institute Of Technology (IIT) Delhi (1991–1995). But now a great Indian author. His notable works include Five Point Someone, The 3 Mistakes of My Life and 2 States. Most of his literary works address the issues related to Indian youth and their aspirations which earned Baghat status of the youth icon.

2. Arvind Kejriwal
Alumni of IIT Kharagpur, Mr. Kejriwal completed his B. Tech in mechanical engineering in 1989. He was selected for the Indian Revenue Service in 1993 and was awarded the Ramon Magasaysay award for Emergent Leadership in 2006. But now landed as the CM of Delhi. He is a social activist and politician. He is the CM designate of Delhi as his party AAP won 67 of the 70 assembly seats of Delhi. He launched the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2012. A former Indian Revenue Service officer, he is better known for his key role in drafting the Jan Lokpal Bill.

3. Harsha Bhogle
Harsha Bhogle received BTech in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University’s College of Technology at Hyderabad. He received PGDM (Diploma in Management) from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He is an Indian cricket Commentator and journalist.

4. Shankar Mahadevan
Shankar Mahadevan graduated in 1988 with a degree in Electronics Engineering from R.A.I.T (D Y Patil, Navi Mumbai), under the auspices of Mumbai University. As of now, he sings songs in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, and Carnatic. Though a software engineer by profession and having worked with Oracle Corporation, Shankar’s interest in music made him venture into the field of music. He got his first award as a playback singer in Chennai film music, collaborating with A. R. Rahman and winning a National Film Award for his song in Kandukondain Kandukondain.

5. Anil Kumble
Anil Kumble graduated B.E from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering (RVCE) in Mechanical Engineering in 1991–92. He began playing cricket on the streets of Bangalore and joined a club called “Young Cricketers” at the age of 13. He is a former Indian cricketer and a former captain of Tests and ODIs, who played Tests and ODIs for 18 years. A right-arm leg spin (leg break googly) bowler, he took 619 wickets in Test cricket and remains the third-highest wicket taker of all time (as of 2017, behind Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne).
