THE MEMORY OF A LONELY SOUL

Tags: memory kill poem

I drown myself in an

Ocean of my own thoughts.

Not to awaken my demons;

But rather, to Kill it, and

Hope it takes me with it.

But it can’t die; and

Neither can I.

You can’t kill what’s

Already dead.

You can’t save what’s

Already condemned.

We can’t rise from

The ashes because we’re

Nothing more than a

Memory that’s

Bound to fade

With the wind.
