Three Ways To Stand Out At A Health Care Trade Show

Healthcare is an industry predominately defined by three (two and a half) colors: white, Blue, and blue-ish green. They give brands a feeling of cleanliness, hope and most importantly, health. It’s no surprise that a lot of brands on the floor at shows like RSNA, AAOS, and HIMSS use them. When you’re in an industry defined by a standard like that, what can you do to make your Exhibit stand out?

Having experience at the world’s biggest (and smallest) medical shows, Catalyst can help. We’ve gathered three great ways to help your exhibit stand out at in a sea of white and blue.

1. Add some warmth.

Blue and white are great colors for healthcare exhibits, but there are ways to tastefully add color to your booth while still keeping the same message.

Catalyst partners with Brainlab for dozens of shows each year like AANS, AAOS, and RSNA. Brainlab has definitely stepped away from the norm with their provocative use of bright pinks, yellows, oranges, and greens.

Maybe that’s a little too vibrant for your brand. Another easy way to compliment a clean, white brand is by adding warm wood accents. Last year at RSNA Siemens incorporated this light wood reception. Throughout the year you’ll see more of it in their exhibit program.

2. Draw a crowd with AV

Nearly every exhibitor has a few screens hooked up to show their products, but some go even further. Siemens wanted to create an interactive demonstration area for their HIMSS booth. A designated area was filled with seating facing a wall with dozens of iPads. Presenters then gave a demonstration of Siemens’ products using the interconnected iPads.

3. Sometimes bigger is better.

Small and medium-sized exhibitors have ways to stand out in a show hall among giants, but sometimes bigger is better. Having a big space can create an event within the show hall and block out all other exhibitors.

At AACC in 2012, Catalyst designed this arena-like structure in an 80×100 space for Abbott Diagnostics. The large exterior graphics attracts attendees, while the closed off structure blocks the view from competitors.

Carestream matched their massive 160×80 space with warm colors to become one of RSNA’s premier exhibitors. Massive headers create a shroud around the exhibit that isolate Carestream from the busy hall.
