Prepare for continued turmoil in the money markets this year and another dynamic year full of change and headstrong energy. Luckily, the Yin Fire Rooster is a little more mellow than the Yang Fire Monkey of 2016, but the pace won’t let up much as we move into a very yang (male, active) period of time known as the 9 fate. Read on for a general overview of the year and your Chinese animal forecast.
This year is a 1 Water year, which places the Black 2 sickness star is in the Northwest of the Flying Star this year. This means that governments and institutions will be under pressure, and sickness will either be revealed and rooted out or allowed to set in and rot. The 5 Yellow troublemaker star is in the South which will affect the male energy. There is also a Fire Under Mountain influence which could see some volcanic eruptions and potentially more bombings as there is a lot of fire/metal crush this year unfortunately. The Ba Zi Chinese Horoscope of the year is weak Fire, with wood and fire as supportive elements and earth, water and metal as supportive elements. This means that Spring and Summer should be productive but the winter and autumn could become overwhelming or frustrating. In August and September there is a greater likelihood of losing large sums of money, so be careful where you place your investments and the timing of business decisions, and ideally seek out Auspicious Timing advice for any significant business or life decisions.
Nothing in life is purely negative, and the same applies to the various portents we work with. The question is where will you place your focus? On what could go wrong or what could go right? Being forewarned is indeed forearmed and allows us to steer our consciousness more effectively. In truth many people are not yet even aware they can influence their lives, which is why ancient skills such as calendar and horoscope are still much misunderstood and can promote a passive victimhood rather than empowerment. When correctly understood we see that these influences are there to teach us about the rich tapestry of life and help us see beyond the limitations and confines of the ego into the deep breathing matrix of life itself. Astrology gives us no excuses, only perspective.
What does the energy of a Rooster have to do with me? Sounds strange, right? The point is that the ancient Chinese cosmologists identified energetic characteristics of certain times and configurations of nature’s energy. If you were born in the Year of the Rabbit, you might feel a little nervous right now, as you are in a spicy opposition with the ruling energy of the year the Rooster. But if you are a Dragon who naturally combines to the Rooster energy, then you will be feeling quietly excited.
The Yin Fire Rooster is simply a label for a year that has the Fire and Metal element and the qualities of confidence, showiness and making noise (think of the Rooster crowing). In general Rooster energy is good for promotional activities, launching a speaking career etc. I find that many of my clients who are singers or voiceover artists have Rooster in their chart.
How the natural forces of the universe affect the energies of the year is a fascinating subject called forecasting and refers to our Heaven Luck. I prefer the term forecast rather than prediction as I consider it more accurate and it also creates more psychological space to harness our Human Luck in order to better weather the forecast whereas prediction somehow sounds too final. We are never meant to feel victimized by the forecasts as this creates self-fulfilling prophecies, however, if we are forewarned we are forearmed and can fine-tune our strategies.
Year of Birth Forecast
The full Four Pillars Chinese Horoscope is based on the Year, Month, Day and Hour of birth and is very bespoke to the individual. This forecast is based on the YEAR only, so it will provide a very general outlook for each animal sign and is meant to help you weaken or avoid bad luck, and increase your alignment to the good luck. Please do understand that both your individual detailed horoscope and the Feng Shui of your home or office will greatly contribute to how you combine with the energies and if you want to engage at a deeper level then consider having your full horoscope ‘opened’ or a full professional Feng Shui consultation. DIY horoscopes or Feng Shui are not recommended! You can ORDER ONLINE HERE
Wishing you a joyful and prosperous 2017 Year of the Fire Rooster!

“I had the Chinese Horoscope done for myself and fiancee and it was truly remarkable. It was insightful, specific and very accurate. It pinpointed our personalities and indicated the best time for making big life decisions. Having been told by Harley Street experts that we could not have children, we followed the advice about timing and are now proud parents to two healthy children. Highly recommended!” Paula Clancy, W Hotel Group
Commenting on a Southern Hemisphere birthchart I analysed “I sensed you were someone who ‘knows their stuff’ – this chart is so much more me than the other I had done. Thank you” Rebecca Hagenbuch, Sydney, Australia
Clearly, your individual chart will interact differently with the year and offer more bespoke detail and the Feng Shui of your home or office will have its own chi patterns. To get the best results from Chinese metaphysics it is always advisable to look not just at your space, but also your timing and your inner attitude and mindset as well.
How to work out your Chinese Animal sign?
For those of you born from in the months of January to November you take the year of your birth from the lists below, however, if you are born around the Winter Solstice i.e.. between 20 Dec to 31 Dec then you will belong to the following year for example, someone born on 26th December 2009 might think they are an Ox but in fact the energy of the year has renewed at Winter Solstice and now become the Tiger i.e.. 2010. You do not work out from the Spring Festival dates in February as this is inaccurate.
Rat 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020, 2032, 2044
The Rat has several auspicious stars looking after them this year, and also they occupy the Dragon Castle meaning that a LOT of energy will be coming their way. You simply cannot say yes to all the opportunities and must learn to focus on your biggest goals or else you will be constantly set back by ‘small fry’ projects or people who don’t value your vision. This will thwart your growth this year if you allow it to, but if you get organised and realistic with your time, you can achieve many of your long held hopes and dreams this year.
Ox 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021, 2033, 2045
The Ox has a good relationship with the Rooster, so their hard work should be rewarded this year in terms of recognition. You have several auspicious stars with you this year which will help further in achieving your ambitions and to help reduce any problematic situations should they arise. It might be a little lonely this year but this means you can fully focus on your work and career progression. All in all the message for this year is GO FOR IT!
Tiger 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022, 2034, 2046
The Tiger must be careful this year to conserve their energy and not let other people ‘pinch their chi’. It is a good year to focus on your career and to be helped by mentors that you trust to help you. Take care of your finances this year otherwise you could lose a lot of money. You do have a few lucky stars looking out for you, so with discernment you will find the right people to trust.
Rabbit 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023, 2036, 2047
The Rabbit is against the T’ai Soi this year – meaning, it is in opposition to the ruling animal of the year the Rooster – so depending on the type of full horoscope chart the person has (based on Year, Month, Day and Hour) the Rabbit could either have an amazingly good year, achieving long held ambitions through taking big action – or they could find the year totally overwhelming and disastrous.
If possible the Rabbit should avoid going to funerals or hospitals this year and if they must, then they are to turn their back as the coffin goes into the ground (or the coffin goes into the cremation furnace). It is also best to avoid dangerous places like cliff tops, building sites and dark alleyways.
Having the Feng Shui done on their home or business together with a full Chinese Horoscope reading would be highly recommended for all those born in the year of the Rabbit, as this will help them to reduce the negative influence and boost the positive aspects of this year.

I wanted to tell you how much of a difference your astrology reading of our compatibility and interaction made. It really helped me to see the dynamics at play when we were together at home and when we were outside in the world – really detailed and really insightful. It helped me to really relax and find acceptance. Thank you. Ingrid von Burg (Greene) Los Angeles, USA
Dragon 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024, 2036, 2048
The Dragon is allied this year with the Rooster, so should benefit from the year. They have the Big Fortune star but also could lose as much as they gain if not wise. Be careful with family members this year and getting into situations that could make you feel trapped, either psychologically or literally, such as quicksand or caves etc.
Snake 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025, 2037, 2049
The Snake is good allies with the Rooster, so they too will benefit from the energy of the year. They will need to control their anger this year though otherwise it could get them into trouble. Their reputation could suffer this year, so make sure that any PR related activities are well organised and any gossip is nipped in the bud.
Horse 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954,1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026, 2038, 2050
The horse could be a little challenged this year in terms of their health but some powerful auspicious stars will help to protect them and this could even be a very romantic year for you. All in all though try to approach the year in terms of getting your house in order rather than trying to do anything too ambitious, as this will serve you better and prepare you for more auspicious years to come.
Sheep/Goat 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027, 2039, 2051
The Sheep has the Small Fortune star this year so could stand to make some good financial gains. Be careful though of the possibility of betrayal by a lover/husband/wife and the tendency for problems in the bedroom. Having the feng shui done on your home and/or a Chinese Horoscope will help to reduce this likelihood.
Monkey 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028, 2040, 2052
The Monkey might find it hard to concentrate this year and should avoid any activity related to hooks (bungee jumping, flying trapeze etc.) as this could be especially dangerous for them. Similarly, high wires or swing ropes should be avoided this year and I would advise against wearing ties if you can help it. Supervise any children born in the year of the Monkey even more closely than usual if they are playing on swings or roped games, particularly if high up in trees or in adventure playground constructions. Zip wiring would also be inadvisable and would rock climbing that relies upon systems of hooks and ropes. Teaming up with people born in the year of the Rat will help the Monkey this year. Focusing on innovation this year will help the monkey to concentrate better.
“It was very surprising what Sarah could assess about my private and career life! It helped me to gain unexpected insights and also provided some wise and practical advice for the next 5-10 years. Really good value for money.” S H, Ethical Fund Manager, Frankfurt

Rooster 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029, 2041, 2053
The Rooster is the Leader of the Year and has the Imperial Crown star which is a very powerful and lucky influence. Whenever you are the leader though the year will be very powerful and action packed, which is great for some people, but overwhelming for others, so try to team up with someone born in the Year of the Ox or the Year of the Dragon as they will help to ground you and you can help to promote their work.
“I was amazed at how accurate Sarah’s Chinese Horoscope was for me, from key events in my past to my specific health problems and what practical measures I can take to support myself.” Sara Hannan,UK
Dog 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030, 2042, 2054
The Dog will need to take care not to roam unaccompanied at night in dangerous parts of town as the negative Robbery star is with them this year. Coupled with the stress of the 2 black star in the NW the Dog would be well advised to lay low this year and concentrate on behind the scenes activities so that they can step forth next year (Year of the Dog) with great clarity and poise.
Pig 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031, 2043
The Pig could either have a very good year or a very bad year as the main star governing them can go either way. If they align with strong people then they should be able to do well. You might find yourself travelling more than usual this year and it might be quite lonely. Coupled with the stress of the 2 black star in the NW the Pig would be well advised to lay low this year and concentrate on behind the scenes activities so that they can step forth next year with more focus and stability.
Meeting Sarah has been both interesting and informative, I have had a Chinese horoscope and also a monthly one which I would recommend to everybody. I have started to use the information contained to put some water energy into my home which since doing this has helped the work flow in… I am also looking longer term to relocate to an area which suits my energy better and the horoscope gave me really useful guidelines on climate and directions that helped me narrow my search with confidence. I shall certainly be working with Sarah on my new home in Spain. Many thanks for you help so far and I look forward to working with you again in the near future. Paul Follows, UK
