New York Tabletop Week Showing Fantastical Wares- My Four Favorite Collections

Four Plates I Want on
My Spring Table
Bringing Color, Design, Pattern & Whimsy!

my Limoges plates mixed with antique colored glass

Spring roared in this year, and we New Yorkers are happy for it!  As you may know from following me here, I love to entertain in my home. From small beach bonfire picnics to large fetes, I enjoy it all.  I love to bring my friends and family joy this way. On April 5, I was invited to take over the Instagram for 41 Madison as the industry kicked-off New York Tabletop Week.  This famous building houses many of the industry's finest Tabletop wares, and I happily searched out my favorite wares.  Check out my Tabletop tiktok capturing the fun.

After two years of less socializing with many people around the globe living and working from home, we are back to life, back to entertaining.  Living with beauty day to day is the new mantra for many in their home.  Live with what you love, surround yourself with beauty and color and design, and we are no longer waiting until the perfect time to break out the fine china.  Trends come and go but what I think will stay in our home for tabletop and interior design, is now there is a sense of whimsy, fun, a feeling of let's make this over-the-top, break the rules on table setting and formality.  We yearn to live in our homes, break bread with friends and family like never before, and the tabletop industry has heard this. I noted this sentiment on this year's spring tabletop collections. Here's a few of my favorites, and this is my wish list for Spring 2022 entertaining...

1. Hermes Hippomobile Dinnerware
Hermes never disappoints- from handbags to tabletop, they are hands down my favorite.  We have all come to appreciate their viewpoint on all-things equestrian.  However, the newest horse plates take it in an ultra chic, modern direction. Creative Director of tableware, Benoît-Pierre Emery brought in whimsical with equestrian taking inspiration from Italian artist Gianpaolo Pagni

2. Mottahedeh with Robert Haviland their newest collection is a fresh take on their classic pattern, a favorite for weddings and from the house of Limoges. This Daphne collection is now offered in seven new colors and with hand painted 22 carat gold leaves.
3. Ginori 1735 II Viaggio De Nettuno is this Italian company's newest whimsical collection. Designed by English talent Luke Edward Hall, there are heavy influences from Greco-Roman mythology.  The pieces are mix and match, colorful and simply gorgeous.
4. Vista Alegre Amazonia- three different brands collaborated to create this unique, tropical collection and a big bonus- with each purchase a tree is planted in the Amazon forest.
Happy Nesting XO Tamara
