Designing an Efficient Office Space

An efficient Office space is important to have better concentration with your work. Planning the office layout starts with knowing the size, shape, office furniture and the complete functionality and efficiency that you want the workplace to have.

You can have an efficient office area by implementing a totally new look and design. Start by picking what you want to keep from your existing furniture. Have some new ones but ensure to coordinate the styles and colors. Mixing old and new modern furniture will give your Office Space style and interest. If you have a bigger office space, use cubicles to suit every staff’s needs.

With regards to the budget, check the available modern office furniture from online furniture stores. This is easier than hopping from one shop to another. Online furniture stores offer a variety of choices and you can easily see the characteristics, size and price of the product. Make sure to check the design and color for better harmony and coordination. If you have a limited budget, choose the smaller pieces instead of the bigger ones. You can have new office furniture without having to spend much money.

Another technique to enhance the functionality of your office space is to have or purchase only those that you need. Choose multi-purpose office desks and ensure that you know where exactly you want to place them. Furniture that is placed in the right area increases work efficiency because employees can finish their work faster and competently.

Office furniture should be simple to allow a person to feel comfortable. Flashy furniture will only distract attention leading to low work output. Office desks should be big enough to accommodate what is needed, such as a computer, phone, desk organizer, etc. It should have adequate drawers to hold files, documents, and other office supplies or items.

Office chairs should be ergonomically designed to prevent back and neck pain. Sitting eight hours leads to neck and back strain. With an ergonomically designed office chair, you can rest your back because of the tilting feature. The chair is also equipped with caster wheels for ease of movement and a hydraulic lift to adjust the seat height.

Some modern office chairs have tall back rest with a head rest, too. This is great for managers. Check the armrests. They should be wide enough to accommodate your arm.

The same goes for cabinets or bookshelves. Choose those that can hold books, journals, as well as plaques and trophies. The cabinet or bookshelf should be too high for your height. You should be able to reach to the uppermost shelf without using a stool.

Keep the office clutter free. Have enough document tray, utility tray, etc. to avoid stocking paper on top of your desk. There should be a trash bin near your desk or every desk.

If you want to have a small reception area, have a 3-seater sofa and a couple of lounge chairs and an end table. Magazines or newspapers left lying on the table can look untidy. Look for an end table that has a provision for this. Or better yet, get a newspaper or magazine rack to put order.

Complete your office space for an efficient look by painting your walls with cool, warm colors. Boring colors can make you and your staff tires and unexcited. This affects work efficiency. Have windows and let the sunshine in by raising the blinds in the morning.

Of course, have adequate lighting. It is uncomfortable to work in a slightly dimmed room. If you need a desk lamp then by all means have it.

Having an efficient work space increases work productivity and this means better sales for your company. It also attracts clients and provide a good impression to them.
