6 Eye-catching Armchairs Under £400

We have all spent a lot of time in our homes over the last year. Are you getting bored of your decor? Or do you have an empty corner somewhere? If you’re eyeing-up your living room, home office, or bedroom and you feel like it needs a little refresh but you really don’t have the energy to re-styling the whole room, an eye-catching Armchair may be your answer.

I’ve handpicked 6 of my favourite eye-catching armchairs that you can get your hands on, all for less than £400. Take a look below to find out more:

1-Shona Armchair: £399

The Shona armchair from made.com is a true 70s inspired statement piece. The velvet fabric and sweeping back and arms make this armchair look so cosy and inviting. It’s designed by Charlotte Honcke, whose Scandinavian roots bring more than a touch of inspiration to this striking retro seat.

I have selected the grogeous pistachio green colour here, but it is also available in coastal blue and Amber.

2- Knox Armchair: £169

Knox nods to industrial design with its sturdy metal frame and angled legs – you won’t be getting up in a hurry! Rhonda Drakeford is the woman behind this bold design. She designs furniture and accessories with a distinctive aesthetic: strong colours, graphic shapes, and bold patterns. the sloped angle of the seat pad means you sink back into it when you sit down. The padded back cushion means you will be fully supported when you relax in this beautiful piece.

If this pattern is a bit too bold for you, in plain Agean blue and retro orange fabrics.

3- Sagari Rocking Armchair: £395

This traditional Sagari rocking chair has contemporary flair, with a stylish combination of rich, tactile leather and a striking iron frame. While away an afternoon with the gentle sway of this comfortable rocking chair. The leather is dyed using vegetable extract and tree bark, this means the leather colour will enrich further with time. I love the simple industrial style of this armchair, it is understated but catches the eye at the same time.

Nkuku pride themselves on the materials that they use, they shape their collections and play a key part the brands look and values. They choose to work with natural, recycled and reclaimed materials through sustainable methods of production.

4- Evelyn Armchair: £349

Sit back in glamour with this beautifully made Evelyn accent chair. Standing glamorously on four black legs, the art deco scallop style chair is upholstered in ivory white boucle. This occasional chair is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine, or if you’re feeling fancier (and you will be), a glass of sparkling champagne.

Available in a range of colours from pink to teal and with the choice of black or brass leg finish, this show-stopping chair will emit glamour wherever it’s placed. I have chosen the boucle finish as boucle is so on trend right now, plus the added texture adds another layer of comfort.

5- Marte Armchair: £299

Bring relaxing holiday vibes into your home all year round with this minimal cane and black rattan armchair. Marte is a true statement lounge chair, made with completely natural, sustainable materials. This stunning chair is detailed with wickerwork panels and a curved tubular design. I wish I had enough space in my bedroom for this beauty! This chair is also available with natural arms for a more pared back, neutral look.

6- Bonnie Armchair: £349

Bonnie’s revival vibes all over. The mood? Boudoir. Think luxury fabrics and petal-like shapes – dreamy to look at, and even dreamier to lounge in. The padded seat, curved arms and back mean comfort is key. Again, this chair has a distinctive retro-revival shape which makes it very eye-catching. This chair would be a beautiful addition to a master bedroom.

I have selected this chair in the soft pearl pink velvet, but it is also available in a punchy warm caramel colour.

That concludes my round-up. Do any of these eye-catching armchairs command your attention? I personally love the Marte cane armchair and the Shona velvet armchair the most. The Shona in particular looks perfect for curling up with a book in a cosy corner. Let me know which is your favourite in the comments below.
