A Note on Style: The February “Season”

Hello LDV readers. It’s Karima from A Note on Style. February feels like it’s own season. Winter weather lingers only to be interrupted by an occasional tease of spring. I’m ready for the sense of newness a fresh season brings and will ease into it wearing the classic neutrals I return to again and again. Adding a dose of ivory and a pop of black will keep the palette looking sharp. White sweaters, polished bags, or a strand of pearls are specifically the items I want to wear. My current moodboard takes this vibe across everything on my radar from how I dress to what I surround myself with at home.

Decor falls under the same spell and I welcome an uncluttered living space calmed by a soft palette. Decorative items put away in December to make room for holiday decor slowly make their way back to a table or shelf. Finding new landing spots for old pieces allows me to create fresh vignettes. With a variety of objects collected over the years, I can control the color range of what gets displayed and change it on a whim. Pale, creamy white pieces are currently my first choice to begin this process.

I haven’t traveled much lately and miss it terribly. But cities are not calling out to me. It’s the escape to nature that I’m most craving. Big open spaces and views forever are what make my heart happy. I’d be quite content looking out a massive window at snow covered mountains or towering trees for the next month or so.
