The Paragon: New Historic Location To Match Our Collection

Tags: paragon
The Paragon was designed by Michael Searles for John Cator, and built between 1795 and 1806.
Intended for the upper middle class, the linked pairs of houses provided room for carriages, stables, servant's quarters and large gardens.
Severely damaged during World War ll, The Paragon was restored to its former glory by Charles Bernard Brown between 1949 and 1958. Now Grade I listed, The Paragon is considered one of the England's finest buildings of its type. It is worth noting that the the crescent is still lit by period correct gas streetlights.
