I A romping good yarn written by John Le Carré? Well, you would expect little else.
If you haven’t caught up with the series. Look away now.

Another triumph for the BBC, I thought. The cast, were nothing less than brilliant. Olivia (bring on Jane Bond) Coleman never fails to deliver. What a part to play when pregnant! I nearly had the baby for you in the last episode.
Hugh (you play the really bad guy really so despicably) Laurie. Hmm, I wonder what actually became of that nasty Mr Roper, hopefully something really horrible.
And as for the two Toms … well. Tom Hollander (Corky) you got your just desserts in the desert and Tom (where have you been all my life) Hiddleston how come I never noticed you before? How did I miss you in Thor? The black locks, maybe?
The ending left me a little flat. Or was it just that I was yearning for more and yes, there were a few continuity problems towards the end but what the hell! Who cares. This is certainly the best, ‘keep you on the edge of your seat’ yarn I have seen for a long time.If I had secretly hoped there would be a second series … It is not to be😦
