The Friday Roundup – Filmora 11 Released and More Editing Tips

Wondershare Filmora 11 New Features

Recently Wondershare announced the approaching release of Filmora 11 and as part of that began making beta version available to some people.

That was a few weeks ago and since then there have been a few updates with the news yesterday that Filmora 11 had been released into the wild!

I received notification of it though my own version of Filmora X but because I am halfway through a project I have not updated as yet.

Just a pro tip here for anyone in a similar situation… ALWAYS make sure you have finished your outstanding work on a version before updating especially if it is a major update like this one.

Fortunately for us there are still thrillseekers out there willing to upgrade at the drop of a hat so in the video below you can see at least some of the new features.

For me personally the new Speed Ramping module looks pretty amazing.

Of course speed ramping in itself is no real big deal but the way they have presented it in the new interface is probably one of the best I have seen in any software around at the moment.

Video Editing Tricks to Improve Your Videos

It has been a few weeks since Daniel has posted anything and it turns out the reason for that is he has been a little under the weather.

The double good news here is that he wasn’t ill with Covid and this week he is back with a livestream!

You may want to grab your beverage of choice and even some snacks because this one goes on for about an hour and a half.

As usual it is jammed full of great tips and demonstrations not just for using Filmora but for video creation in general as well as YouTube channel information.

How to Edit Videos? – Tutorial for Beginners

Yes this is a shameless and at times, seemingly unending plug for the Movavi video editor and to that I would say two things.

At the basic level Movavi is a pretty good video editor and particularly suited to someone wanting to post regularly on YouTube so it is at least appropriate.

And, the tips are very good so I don’t begrudge anyone plugging their products if the information is worth it.

How To Make A Search Bar Animation – CyberLink PowerDirector 20|365

Pretty straightforward really. “How to make a search bar animation” just like it says on the box!

PowerDirector – Tips on Creating a Vehicle Chase Scene

OK I’ll be the first to point out that this is all pretty cheesy looking!

However it is a good runthrough of some simple techniques you can apply to any footage to make it appear to be something completely different.

How to Track and Mask Objects with Smart Object Tracking in Pinnacle Studio 25

This is the second in the series from Pinnacle going into more detail on the new Smart Object Tracking module.

In this video they provide a lot more info on how the effect actually works as well as some real examples of how it can be used in a practical sense.

How to Edit Text Animation In Wondershare Filmora

One of the fastest way to add text animations inside of Filmora is to use one of the presets on offer.

However it is quite rare that a preset is going to be exactly how to want it to be.

Size, shape, duration, speed… all these factors play a part in how the animation will ultimately play out so… once you add a preset you really need to go into the advanced settings and get it just right.

Wondershare Filmora Basic Travel Effect – Keyframing

Although this is a good tutorial for creating a travel animation sequence it is otherwise a great runthrough of all the skills and tools necessary to do that.

There’s a little overlay action, some masking, some animation and some key framing to top it all off!
