Leicester City to face Barcelona, PSG

Leicester City have been given a rare opportunity to play Barcelona and PSG this summer, as a reward of their remarkable season-long run in Premier League this year.

Reineri and his team have been selected by the International Champions Cup, which is the pre-season tournament exclusively organized by the American businessman Charlie Stillitano. Yes, Charlie is the same person who was against the Leicester inclusion in Europe Super League a few weeks back.

Stillitano says the Club has the lack of global reputation that should be there in order to be included the stage, but now they will be one of the 5 English clubs to be involved. Leicester will first face Celtic in Glasgow, then they’ll fly to United States to play the French Champions, PSG in Los Angeles before concluding their tournament against most-anticipated-Spanish-champions Barcelona.

Susan Whelan, the club’s chief executive, said: “An invitation to participate in the International Champions Cup highlights the significant impression the club is making on an international audience.”

“We are delighted to be involved in this year’s competition. It will form part of a carefully planned pre-season programme that has worked extremely well in recent years – including a week-long training camp in Austria and selected domestic friendly fixtures. “The ICC is a great opportunity to compete with some of Europe’s leading clubs and to further promote the club, and the city of Leicester, around the world.”

Leicester will be among the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
