Thanks to Duncan Laurence’s Eurovision 2019 victory, the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Netherlands. As the roots of our international company are in Holland, it was obvious to us that we must make an overview of all things related to the Eurovision Song Contest 2020There were five Dutch cities bidding for the title of Host City of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Where is Eurovision 2020?

The Eurovision 2020 host city is Rotterdam, the second-largest city in the Netherlands. It will be hosted at the Rotterdam Ahoy arena. The winner of Eurovision 2019, Duncan Laurence, was born and raised in a small city not too far from Rotterdam, so it’s likely that he is excited to bring the celebrations home! According to the International Festivals & Events Association “Rotterdam is one of the six best festival cities in the world”, proving that this city is the best place for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020!

Eurovision 2020 Dates 

The Eurovision 2020 dates are: Tuesday 12th May – Saturday 16th May 2020. The Eurovision 2020 semi-finals will start on the 12th and the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will be on the Saturday evening.  

Tickets for Eurovision 2020 

The cost of tickets for Eurovision 2020 varies depending on which show you see. As may be expected, the Eurovision 2020 semi-finals ticket prices will be cheaper than the tickets for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020Tickets for Eurovision 2020 are not yet available however, when they are, make sure to purchase your tickets for Eurovision 2020 on a trusted site, such as the venue’s own site.  

How to get to Rotterdam Ahoy

To make sure you arrive to the Eurovision 2020 shows on time, it is important to plan your visit well in advance! There is a limited amount of parking spaces at the Rotterdam Ahoy venue, as well public transport is likely to be extra busy so it can take longer to reach the venuePlan to give yourself enough time to arrive and enjoy the whole Eurovision Song Contest 2020! 

Getting to Rotterdam Ahoy by public transport 

From bus and metro station Zuidplein it’s a 5-minute walk to Rotterdam Ahoy. 

Use the 9292 website to plan your route from any place in the Netherlands. 

Getting to Rotterdam Ahoy by car 

Rotterdam Ahoy has 2000 parking spaces. It is € 13.50 per car for a parking space. 

England to Rotterdam 

There are various ways to travel from England to Rotterdam, so you have plenty of options to choose from.  

England to Holland Ferry 

If you plan on coming by car, or just don’t feel like flying, then travelling by ferry is the best option. 

  • Directly from England to Rotterdam is a P&O Ferry from Hull to Rotterdam 
  • Another option is a Stena Line Ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland. From here it takes 30 minutes to drive to Rotterdam. 
  • If you wish to be closer to Amsterdam, then there is one ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam (Ijmuiden) that is operated by DFDS Seaways. From Amsterdam (Ijmuiden) to Rotterdam it is a 1hr 5min drive.    
England to Rotterdam Eurostar 

From London St Pancras International to Rotterdam Centraal there is a three-times daily train. This takes just 3hrs 13mins to get from one city to the other. However, it is important to note that the return journey isn’t direct. You will first have to travel from Rotterdam Centraal to Brussels-Midi/Zuid and from there take a direct Eurostar back to London.

England to Holland Flights 

Fly from any English airport to Amsterdam Schiphol (approximate flight time of 1hr). From here you can get a direct train to Rotterdam Centraal.
