Security Measure Of The Week

It is amazing what people will steal.

The Tesco branch in Duke Street in Edinburgh has had a spate of thefts of super large Tena Incontinence Pants, retailing at £12 a go, I understand. Their solution – to fit the sort of alarmed tag that you normally see installed on high value goods such as champagne, spirits and DVDs. Of course, for the legitimate shopper having to have these tags removed is just another inconvenience and for those who may be embarrassed by such things, it just draws attention to their purchase.

We will see whether it works. As for the thieves, it adds another dimension to the description, desperate!
