Broadway-Nashville Tennessee

Broadway-Nashville, Tennessee is voted #1 of the Top 12 Things to do in Nashville, Tennessee.

While many people visit Nashville’s museums to learn about the history of Country Music, others prefer to experience the music live. The best way to accomplish this is by visiting one of the many bars that line Broadway, the main thoroughfare in downtown Nashville. Lower Broadway is dubbed “Honky Tonk Highway” due to the abundance of establishments that feature live music every day. Additionally, there is no cover charge, allowing you to bar hop at your leisure.

While all the bars on Broadway feature live music, each bar has a unique atmosphere that distinguishes it from the others. These are some of the most popular bars:

Legends Corner: Country Music records and memorabilia adorn the walls of Legends, and the bar features a stage, dance floor, bar seating, and tables. Visitors say the atmosphere at Legends is great – lively but not too loud – and it’s the ideal place to enjoy a drink while listening to live music.

Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, a Nashville landmark, is easily identifiable by its lavender exterior. People adore Tootsie’s due to its three stories (including three stages) and numerous bars. Evenings at this country music bar can become quite rowdy and crowded, and patrons warn of high drink prices.

Layla’s: Layla’s exudes a more relaxed, laid-back atmosphere than other Broadway honky-tonks, with musicians singing everything from old-school country and bluegrass to contemporary country. The bar’s ceiling is adorned with license plates from across the country, and patrons are welcome to add their own to the collection. According to travelers, the musicians and bartenders at this establishment are exceptional.

The Stage on Broadway is a bar frequented by individuals seeking to let loose and dance. In addition to a large stage and dance area, The Stage features a popular bar and a rooftop patio. Visitors claim that all of the bands performing at The Stage are phenomenal, which is complemented by the venue’s excellent acoustics. From 6 p.m. until closing, this venue is restricted to patrons over 21 years of age.

This bar with a trailer park motif is a fun place to enjoy live music, cold beer, and greasy food such as burgers, fries, and tater tots. The “Mullet Hall of Fame” at Paradise Park features framed photographs of celebrities sporting the hairstyle.

Honky Tonk Central is an expansive bar that features three levels of live music. According to travelers, this is a great place for people of all ages, as there is an abundance of seating, space for dancing, and talented musicians. This establishment also offers bachelor and bachelorette packages with an open bar and food.

If you sign up for one of the best-guided tours in the city, chances are you’ll also stop along Broadway.
