2022 iPhone ‘Pro’ to Ditch Notch in Favour of Punch Hole Display; Next iPhone SE with 5G Coming in Early 2022: Kuo

The next Iphone is still months away, but analyst Ming Chi-Kuo is here with some shocking news for the 2022 iPhone lineup that might or might not make you jump.

According to a recent MacRumors report, Kuo suggested that Apple might be ditching the infamous notch in favor of a not-so-famous punch-hole display similar to what we have seen in many recent android smartphones, including Apple’s rival Samsung’s flagships. According to Kuo, at least one of the higher-end iPhones in 2022 will be adopting the punch-hole display, and if production yields are good enough’ then all the 2022 iPhones might be coming with the punch-hole display.

But we are still uncertain about how FaceID is going to work since Kuo has not provided any insight on that; the chances are that Apple might get rid of FaceID. They might bring back the TouchID in some form, may be embedded in the power button as it did with the iPad Air, or we might finally get the in-display fingerprint sensor after years of wait.

One more bad news for all the FaceID admires; Kuo Claims that Apple may launch an all-screen iPhone as soon as the second half of 2023.

Last year, Kuo reported that Apple has a larger iPhone SE under development, and now Kuo has provided us some more details about the alleged larger iPhone SE.

“Apple will release the new ‌iPhone SE‌ model in 1H22. The exterior design and most specifications are similar to the existing 4.7-inch ‌iPhone SE‌. The biggest change is to support 5G and processor upgrades.” – Kuo

According to Kuo, the next iPhone SE which would be larger in size than the previous models would debuting in the early 2022 or at least in the first half of the 2022.

Kuo claims that the third-generation iPhone SE won’t be much different from the last-generation iPhone SE. Still, it is expected to bring a new processor and 5G support on board, with a possibility of a Touch ID power button making an appearance to achieve a full-front display. But Kuo still has “no visibility on the timing” for the adoption of the feature.
