Sony San Diego Likely Working on a New Uncharted Game For PS5

The Uncharted games have been some of the best action-adventure games for the PlayStation. Their exclusivity has partly been responsible for the meteoric rise of the PlayStation as one of the best gaming consoles in the market. We have seen some time pass after Uncharted 4, and people have speculated that it is likely that Sony has been working on a new Uncharted game for next-gen release. As it happens, it might be true.

One of the workers at Sony San Diego had taken to Twitter to announce that he had resigned from his job at the studio. The tweet had a follow-up saying that the author had been working on a new project at the studio, which hasn’t been cancelled yet. This comes amidst rumours that a senior game designer had just left the studio because of the cancellation of the project (which has now been proven to be untrue thanks to the clarification provided). What it does prove is that the project is likely to be a new Uncharted game or a completely new IP in itself.

Even the rumours about the formation of a new team at Sony San Diego have been confirmed to be true. It’s only a matter of time before the new project is unveiled to the public at large. After the reveal of the PlayStation 5, it’s clear that Sony is doubling down on their exclusive franchises which are what catapulted them to the top of console sales with the PS4. With 2021 seeing new entries in both the God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Ratchet & Clank franchises, a new Uncharted game wouldn’t be too shocking.
