The Players (Gli infedeli) premiered on Netflix on July 15, 2020. Directed by Stefano Mordini, the film stars Riccardo Scamarcio, Valerio Mastandrea, Laura Chiatti, Valentina Cervi, and Marina Foïs alongside other cast members.

The Story Revolves around 5 men who are cheating on their partners and feel that it’s okay to do so. And for this purpose, they build a fortress of lies.

Infidelity > Love!

10 minutes into the Movie you will understand what the rest of the movie has to offer – which isn’t much. The story revolves around cheating men, where one of them goes as far as making his wife believe that she is crazy (gaslighting isn’t funny and shouldn’t be taken lightly). There’s not much to say about the film keeping in view how the story moves on a straight line with just one twist which has got nothing to do with the central plot.

The stories of the couples are left incomplete, hanging in between and would leave the viewers questioning why they started watching the movie. Riccardo Scamarcio as Lorenzo plays the best role in the whole movie – a desperate married man, searching for sex everywhere. Yes, he does justice to his role.

The concept of ‘glory hole’ is also touched over in the film – which is kinda confusing and disgusting. However, you won’t be able to grasp what is going on if you don’t know what a glory hole is.

Stream It or Skip It

SKIP IT! The skip from stories to stories without even completing any of them properly gets hectic in the course of the film. If you’re looking forward to an absurd, quirky comedy then this might be the one for you! However, I don’t know how appeasing cheating men making fools out of their wives sounds like.
