Intel Working on an 8C/16T Core i7-10700F; 30% Faster the Core i7-9700K

It seems that Intel will be expanding its F series lineup with the 10th Gen Comet Lake-S CPUs. Other than the Core i3-10300F, the i5-10400F and the i9-10900F, we’ll also be getting a Core i7-10700F (in addition to the HK variants). This is unexpected, as the F series was supposed to be a short-term solution to dispose of chips with faulty iGPUs from the expanded foundries.

Initially, the F series was priced exactly the same as the non-F chips, but as AMD launched the 3rd Gen Ryzen lineup, Intel quickly dropped their prices. You can read more on that here:

A few listings, as well as the Cinebench R20 score of the Core i7-10700F have surfaced which gives this rumor ample credibility:

As you can see, the Cinebench R20 scores of the 10700F are higher than the Core i7-9700K. The higher single-core score means that the 10700F will have a higher boost clock compared to the 9700K (same core design). The use of hyperthreading explains the higher multi-threaded score.

Pre-built OEM PCs packing the Core i7-10700F have surfaced. A 10700F-RTX 2060 combo is priced at $1,270 at Connection.
