Jim Hopper, who played the role by David Harbour, made a brave sacrifice at the end of Stranger Things season three, destroying the Russian’s Key machine to disrupt the break to the Upside Down.

Jim Hopper is seemingly dissolved, along with the deadly Mind Flayer, but the Reddit user believes his fate is not quite firm. Reddit user Leafair said that In the end when they published that Demogorgon into the man in the Russian prison, they were thinking about opening up a cell, and one of the guards stopped the other and said American in Russian. The user is connecting to the season finale scene in Kamchatka, where Russian guards are supporting some poor soul to a captive, ravenous Demogorgon.

The moment we got through the third season of Stranger Things, we were left hurting our heads about a few things. For example, why have Eleven’s powers forsaken her? Are there any rats left in Hawkins? And how is Max going to explain Billy’s bizarre end to her parents?! But above all, those were a much more overwhelming question we never thought we’d ask ourselves, is Jim Hopper dead?

The next clip shows him in Russia, working with fellow prisoners while provided authorities manage them. Naturally, Jim Hopper looks pressed, but before we get any more evidence and data about what is happening, the clip cuts to black. This certainly brings about even more questions, but at least we have a taste of what is to come. So until we are treated another hint about season four, let’s examine what initially led Jim Hopper to his big life-or-death moment in the third episode.
