Disney announced the release date of Black Panther 2 at the final D23 Expo, and the sequel would be released in theatres on May 6, 2022, as the last film of Phase 4 of the MCU. It makes sense that Kevin Feige believes in his accessible assets. Black Panther has reached new heights of success. The trailer of Black Panther 2 can be released before the end of 2021 and will be in line with the 6-month gap rule before launch.

The plot of Black Panther 2 has not been finalized at this time since the script is being written, but there are some rumours about the story. There are reports that Namor, the ruler of Atlantis, will be the main villain and will wage war in Wakanda and that Takaal must defend his kingdom from foreign attack. Namor was teased at Avengers: it would be a great way to present Atlantis with the Black Panther sequel and finish Phase 5 with an explosion at the end of the game and MCU.
