In the second season, the series showcases Gallardo’s leadership ability when he consolidates the Mexican drug world and wields a strong alliance with other drug lords in the 1980s.

Gallardo’s use of the Mexican strategic location was also instrumental in shaping the storyline for the second season. The drug cartel is all set to disrupt the US trade routes to exploit their opportunities to infuse the drugs into the US territory. And on top of it, they also used their strategic location to extort money from the Colombians, and this resulted in a fierce battle where there are too many stakeholders.

Events took an ugly turn when Gallardo was held directly responsible for assassinating a DEA official Kiki Camarena. DEA can be seen all up in arms to avenge the death of their officer, and the tussle between the DEA and Gallardo leads to severe consequences for all the stakeholders.

The characters in the second season have acted exceptionally well, but Breslin is the one who stole the show. His character is well crafted, and the deceit in his character is worth an applaud. Fans loved his style, and the tricks he plays to keep the balance of trade tilted in his favor is genuinely incredible. Other characters have also acted well, and this season is a must-watch if you have already watched the first season.
