For the upcoming arrival of a new family member, Baby showers are a time for celebrating with friends and get spoiled with a mass of baby gifts too cute to handle. But, a Florida couple accidentally gave a completely inappropriate gift to the expectant parents.

Veronica Alvarez-Rodriguez and her husband assumed that they had found the perfect baby shower gift when they bought a Baby Einstein’s bouncer for less than $10 at a Goodwill in Valparaiso.

The couple thought that they had gotten a lot of excitement for $10.

Alvarez-Rodriguez proceeded on to the celebration in Crestview, located approximately 50 miles northeast of Pensacola, after buying the bouncer.

“It was the excellent present for the baby shower,” she said.

Alvarez-Rodriguez said that the item they purchased was unopened and seemed to be new.

According to reports, the father-to-be couldn’t contain his excitement when he opened the box. After opening the gift, he said that “You guys got me a gun!”

To the couple’s great shock, the baby bouncer box carried a Mossberg 715 semi-automatic rifle with real ammo in it.

After they found out that Baby Einstein’s bouncer contained a gun, she took to Facebook and share the unexpected two-for-one deal.

“When you go to the Goodwill for a baby shower present thinking you got a great deal on a bouncer ($10) not even opened and you end up getting a MOSSBERG 715T Semi-Auto Rifle.”

“Total confusion for us,” she said. “But also lively and just hope it came into the safe hands with all of our partners being military.”

After the stunning unboxing, the Crestview Police Department was informed and an officer examined the expectant parents’ IDs and told them they could keep the gun. On the following day, police returned and asked the father-to-be to turn the gun over.

According to Crestview police spokesman Andrew Schneider, the incident remains under investigation.

It seems like you really can get almost anything for under $10 at Goodwill.
