A 27-year old man identified as Mohammed Isa, of Dogon Ruwa village, Bosso Local Government Area of Niger state have been arrested after he allegedly shot dead his own neighbour, Umaru Abubakar, with a dane gun.

This was disclosed to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by the State Commissioner of Police in Usman Adamu, who briefed newsmen on the incident on Saturday in Mina the State Capital.

How it all started;

According to the Police boss, cattles belonging to Umaru Abubakar, a Fulani by tribe on Dec. 5 at about 18:30 hours entered and caused destruction in the farm of the suspect, a Gwari by tribe and that provoked Isa who in turn shot the cattle rearer at the farm.

“The victim was rushed to Minna General Hospital where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel on duty, ” he said.

The commissioner said the police command had already begun investigation into the matter after which the suspect would be charged to court.

He warned people against taking the law into their hands.
