Buhari Govt. Reveals How Much Obasanjo, Jonathan And Others Will Get In The 2020 Budget

Ex Nigerian presidents such as Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will earn as entitlements a total of N2.3 billion.

General Yakubu Gowon, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Chief Ernest Shonekan, Ebitu Okiwe, Oladipo Diya, Atiku Abubakar and Namadi Sambo will also gain from budget entitlements According to the 2020 Appropriation Bill submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly, some Nigerian heads of state will have a total entitlement of N2.3 billion.

The former Nigerian leaders among who the whooping sum will be shared are Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, The Nation reports.

The allocation is contained in the “Service Wide Vote” section of the budget under the presidency. The section read: “Entitlements for former presidents/heads of state and vice presidents/chief of general staff.”

Some winners were General Yakubu Gowon, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Chief Ernest Shonekan, Ebitu Okiwe, Oladipo Diya, Atiku Abubakar and Namadi Sambo. Previously, we announced that the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, had said that the heads of ministries, departments and agencies had until the end of October to defend themselves against the budget.

Lawan said on Tuesday, October 8, that the Senate would pass the budget no later than that of the end of December.
