The Chinese firm Vivo is scheduled to launch the Vivo X30 smartphone on December 16. A few weeks ago, Funtouch OS product manager had teased a poster showcasing “Jovi OS.” Initially, it was believed that the company is planning to replace it with Funtouch OS.

But now the company seems to dump the idea of the name changing. FunTouch OS product manager Quoted on Weibo, “Unfortunately, after repeated discussions by multiple teams, we have decided to suspend the OS rename plan, and we sincerely apologize for the confusion caused to everyone.” He further pointed out that a new version of FunTouch OS will be announced, which brings the new “Application Sharing” feature. It will worth noting that the application sharing is indeed a screen Synchronisation option, that let you share your screen with other Vivo device to watch videos and play games.

To recall, the Vivo X30 smartphone will have Exynos 980 chipset coupled with Mali-G76 GPU. The Exynos 980 SoC is based on powerful latest Cortex-A77 cores combined with power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. Further, it has integrated a 5G modem, that supports dual-mode 5G SA/NSA connectivity. The Vivo handset incorporates 64MP primary camera accompanied with a periscope lens,  that is well capable of delivering 5x optical zoom and up to 60x hybrid zoom. It runs on Android 9 Pie on the top of the latest Funtouch OS out of the box. The rest of the specs will be on December 16. So stay tuned with us for more information!
