Man United Funds Boost Incoming as Midfield Loanee Agrees €14 million exit

Word stemming from the Brazilian media on Sunday suggests that Manchester United have reached an agreement with Flamengo, over the permanent sale of Andreas Pereira.

The latest info on midfielder Pereira’s future comes courtesy of Bruno Andrade, journalist for reliable Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte.

Andrade confirms that a deal has been struck for the 26-year-old, who has spent the campaign to date on loan with Flamengo, to remain at the Maracana for the foreseeable future.

The somewhat complex terms of the agreement are understood to center around 75% of Pereira’s ownership rights being taken over by the Brazilian giants.

This comes after Flamengo vice president Marcos Braz and executive director Bruno Spindel flew out to London this weekend to finalise the transfer with their Manchester United counterparts.

A €14 million deal was agreed upon between the two parties, the majority of which is set to be forked over with immediate effect.

The remainder will then be made up of bonuses and add-ons, both individual and collective.

Pereira, for his part, is expected to put pen to paper on a contract with Flamengo through the summer of 2026.

FA Cup hopes ended

Turning attentions away from the transfer market, and back towards the pitch, all associated with Manchester United will of course have their sights set on a bounce-back result this coming Tuesday.

This comes with the Red Devils set to make the trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley, in a crucial showdown for the clubs’ respective Premier League season targets.

Ralf Rangnick’s visitors, though, will head into proceedings fresh off the back of a dire result last time out.

An FA Cup 4th-round meeting with Championship outfit Middlesbrough ultimately culminated in United seeing their sole remaining shot at silverware this season go up in smoke, owing to a 1-1 stalemate, followed by a penalty shootout defeat.
