Only Iranian Olympics Medalist female athlete leaves her country

Kimia Alizadeh is one and only female athlete of Iran who won a medal in the Olympics. She won a medal in taekwondo at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and created a history. She won a bronze medal in taekwondo in Rio de Janeiro, a city in Brazil. She was the first Iranian female athlete who won a medal in the Olympics and her record is still unbroken.

Alizadeh was disappeared from the past few time and the news of her alleged disappearance was circulating. However, she said in a social media post on January 12, 2020, that she had left her country. According to a report of Associated Press (AP), Alizadeh affirmed in her social media post in the local language that she left her country.

She did not tell where she would want to live in the future. Alizadeh affirmed in her post that she was in Europe. It is hard to say at the moment in which country of Europe she would stay in the future. She claimed that she was among thousands of Iranian women who had been victimized with social torture and pressure.

According to a local Iranian news agency, Alizadeh might be in the Netherlands where she went for training in recent times. According to the media reports, Alizadeh left Iran as she was oppressed on the base of her gender. She was compelled to leave Iran due to the oppression faced by her from the state and Governmental Officials. According to the media reports, she was criticized by the governmental officials for her behavior with men in foreign countries.

Alizadeh said in her post that her success and medals were politically used by the officials. She was also blamed and criticized by the governmental officials on the base of her dressing. She added in her post that she talked about what the Iranian government wanted in her entire career. She also got permission from the government in terms of wearing clothes. She added that she was not offered by any European country to get nationality so far. Her statement came at the time when the US-Iran relations are much tensed.
