Machu Picchu

While it’s no surprise that Peru’s proudest accomplishment would make this list, we just figured we’d get it out the way first.

This seventh wonder of the world is one of the most beautiful places in not just the country of Peru, but the entire continent of South America.

Always atop everyone’s Peru bucket list, the legendary Machu Picchu is one of the most unforgettable masterpieces of the world.

Currently attracting a staggering amount of 2,500 visitors a day, it’s an absolute blessing the Peruvian Government decided to cap the number of daily visitors.

Otherwise any attempt to visit this world-famous attraction would be a complete nightmare.

However, if you have any plans to visit Machu Picchu, then you’d be smart to book your tickets ahead of time.

Like I mentioned above, there is a cap on the number of tourists who can visit Machu Picchu, which means tickets sell out months in advance.

Therefore, if you have any plans to visit one of the most Instagrammable spots in Peru, then you better not wait until the last minute to book you tickets.

This once upon a time Peru hidden gem has spread like wildfire across social media in recent years, and is now on every backpackers list for must see places in Peru.

To be honest, I’m surprised it took this long considering Huacachina is the only natural desert Oasis in all of South America with sand dunes as high 6,817 feet above sea level.

However, now Huacachina is branded as one of the most beautiful places in Peru, and it has rightfully earned its spot on this list of the best Instagram spots in Peru!

Millpu, Ayacucho

In fact, Millpu blew me away so much I would include it as one of the top photography spots in all of South America.

As one of the few hidden gems in Peru, Millpu is practically splitting at the seams with splendor and is guaranteed to blow your mind the very moment you arrive.

Lima

I wouldn’t dream of saying Lima is one of my favorite cities that I have had the pleasure to explore, however I will admit it does have a unique charm about it.

Aside from all the delicious food and beautiful people, Lima has one of the prettiest coastlines of any coastal town.

Although at times it is hard to appreciate the beauty because of the consistent dark and gloomy weather, during the sunny days, you catch a rare glimpse at the true beauty of Lima and why it is considered one of the prettiest places in Peru.

Rainbow Mountain

Another famous Instagram spot in Peru that has taken social media by storm is Rainbow Mountain.

You know those incredible photos of hundreds, if not thousands of photos featuring the distinctive kaleidoscopic colored mountains that have practically sent Instagram into a frenzy.

In fact, just a few years ago Rainbow Mountain wasn’t even a thing.

However, thanks to the unfortunate progressing effects of climate change, the once snow covered mountain caps of the Vinicunca Pass near Cusco have disappeared to reveal the multicolored spectacle known as Rainbow Mountain.

As a matter of fact, since Rainbow Mountain has gone viral, the Peruvian Government can barely control the insane amount of tourist traffic that comes here on a daily basis.

Unsure how this sudden over-tourism will affect this top Peru Instagram spot, I highly recommend you visit this place before any more people managed to discover it… if that’s even possible at this point.
