This mixed media mint tin collage is a silly reminder to do something I am already pretty good at, procrastinating! I was curious about the etemology of the word Procrastinate and this popped up when I Googled:
“In the late 16th century: from Latin procrastinat- ‘deferred until tomorrow,’ from the verb procrastinare, from pro- ‘forward’ + crastinus ‘belonging to tomorrow’ (from cras ‘tomorrow’). (GOOGLE)
So folks finally invented a word in the late 16th century to say what we all do…put it off until tomorrow!
I like making lists of things I need or want to accomplish. Sometimes making a list is like magic…when stuff makes it on the list it gets done….mainly because I like crossing things off the list. LOL
It dawned on me there are some things the Lord says you won’t want to put off until tomorrow.
“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;” Hebrews 3:12-14
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.” Ephesians 4:26
So I guess the lesson is the time to have a right relationship with God and each other is TODAY.
But for everything else…it’s okay if you procrastinate tomorrow!
