Samsung Galaxy S9 hands-on images surface for the first time

We had enough of computer-generated photos of the Galaxy S9 and it’s time to see them in action. The phone’s launch is just a few of days away from now and here we’re seeing the first hands-on images of the Galaxy S9. A couple of images of the phone have leaked on Slashleaks that reveal the phone from its front and back. The images are a bit hazy, but they still give us an idea of how similar the phone is to its earlier leaked images.

Besides the images being hazy, the phone is also in black and too reflective to let us see the minute details. Nevertheless, the Galaxy S9 seemingly has a design heavily inspired by its predecessor from last year. The image of the phone’s front was taken while it was turning on and it displays the “Samsung Galaxy S9” branding along with a few others. On a closer look, the bottom bezel can be seen which is a tad thinner than that of the Galaxy S8, in line with what previous leaks had suggested.

Towards the back, the handset’s single primary camera can be seen with the fingerprint scanner in its new position. Samsung implemented this design change on the recently announced Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018). The Galaxy S9 will reportedly have a single rear camera while the Galaxy S9+ will have a dual-camera setup with optics similar to the Galaxy Note 8. The Bixby button can also be seen below the volume controller and it is probably here to stay. Along with the black colour option, Samsung will make its upcoming flagships available in blue, white, and purple. The company will give these colour options a fancy name at launch.

These two images provide very little information about Samsung’s 2018 flagship lineup. Previous leaks have suggested the phones to include stereo speakers and variable aperture in the rear camera, too. The phone should come powered by Snapdragon 845 processor in some markets, while in others, it will feature the Exynos 9810. Based on the model, the Galaxy S9-series will be available with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Samsung will announce the two phones on February 25.
