Currently, to recover a hacked account, users need to either await a healing email or complete a support type, making the process time-consuming.

The new recovery procedure is focused on letting users recover an account from within the app itself, instead of having to lean on the security team.

Instagram’s decision comes two months after its moms and dad company Facebook confessed to have “fixed a security concern” that had actually been conserving passwords of 200-600 million users in plain text and “understandable” format considering that 2012, which were likewise searchable by over 20,000 of its staff members.
