This 70-year-old Pensioner paddles across Atlantic Ocean in kayak for the third time

A pensioner has successfully crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a Kayak for the third time after more than 100 days at sea.

Aleksander Doba, 70, completed his transatlantic journey on Sunday after setting off on the epic quest from New Jersey in May.

Mr Doba, from Poland, came ashore at Le Conquet, Brittany, which is on the coast of north-west France.

It comes after he became the first person to paddle across the Atlantic in a kayak on muscle-power alone in 2010 from Senegal to Brazil.

In 2013 he repeated this feat when he kayaked from Lisbon to Florida at 67 years old.

Both trips set records for the longest open-water crossings made by a man in a kayak.

In a Facebook post to update fans of the completion of his journey, his team wrote: “It’s time to celebrate the great success today!

Thank you for all the words of recognition!”

In a separate post they add that he was “tired and happy” on his arrival.

In 2015 Mr Doba won the National Geographic Peoples Adventurer of the Year award.
