Cat Coronavirus Diary – Day 1

Welcome humans to the world of the cat. Staying in all day, snacking, using the litter tray, sleeping, and staring outside wishing you could venture out there into the world. But you can’t – now you know how I feel all the time. Welcome to my life. Do you enjoy it?

How quickly humans have become like cats. It took us centuries to perfect this lifestyle, do you think you can master it in 10 days or even two weeks? It takes time, it takes practice, it takes lots of stretching, it takes a certain state of mind. You have to learn to slow down, stare into space, yawn at the ceiling, fall asleep in the warmest spot in the room, and find interest in the smallest of things such as spiders, threads, indoor plants, and spotting differences in the colours in a wall.

Look within and don’t be frightened by what you find, discover what you’re really like rather than being lazy and buying the latest lawnmower or a solar-powered vacuum cleaner just to fill the time and distract you from what’s important. Spend time with yourself and become your own best friend. You will know you’ve achieved something approaching mastery of yourself when you look at your pet cat or even a dog and know what it’s thinking.

Good luck humans.
