Our Picks For Fall Fashion 2017 Trends Will Turn You Into A Sustainable Style Icon

The post Our Picks For Fall Fashion 2017 Trends Will Turn You Into A Sustainable Style Icon appeared first on Peaceful Dumpling.

As we gear up for another season of hot apple cider, baked goodies, and all things cozy, I’d be remiss if I didn’t showcase this Fall Fashion 2017 trends–but with an eco-friendly, cruelty-free twist!

This year, there seem to be a lot of updated takes on cold weather classics, from understated plaids to figure-flattering coats. And while fall will always inspire the return of earthy tones like olive, burgundy, and chocolate brown, red is making a surprising and welcome entrance to an otherwise muted color palette. What about the ubiquitous fall bootie? This season is all about sharp, angled lines when it comes to footwear, with a particular emphasis on a pointy toe (think Wicked Witch of the West, but on trend).

As always, our take on fashion trends focuses on sustainable and ethical brands that value quality over quantity. Here are my top picks for fall fashion 2017.

Midi Skirts
I’m so excited for the return of the midi skirt, since it’s flattering on all heights and sizes. On cold days, you can wear your midi over tights and pair with a cozy turtleneck for a chic yet sophisticated look. I treated myself to the Amour Vert skirt below, and I cannot recommend it highly enough; I can’t wait to wear it with my favorite sweater!

Amour Vert Nona Skirt, $138

Fauxgerty De-De Midi Skirt, $149

Bold Red
It’s official: red is this season’s color. It might seem a little overpowering at first glance, but it works, especially when paired with a black bottoms or accessories. If you’re still having trouble branching out to such a bold pop of color, try it as an accent color with a vegan leather clutch or as a lipstick.

Reformation Winslow Dress, $268

Everlane Cotton Turtleneck, $68

Neutral Plaid
I love a good plaid in fall–there’s something so cozy about it, you know? This year’s take is more muted than previous years, making it a perfect foil for mixing patterns. I adore these subtle plaid dresses that would easily transition from day to night.

Akira Ming Amber Tunic, $157

Mata Traders Plaid Dress; $68.99 (on sale!)

Belted Coats
I’ve always been a fan of an hourglass silhouette, and the belted coat trend makes this an easy and flattering option. Who doesn’t want to look fabulous and warm at the same time?

Vaute Couture Emily Coat, $575

Fauxgerty Faux Suede Vest, $445

Pointy Toe Boots
Booties are a staple in my fall wardrobe, and for good reason. They’re cute, functional, and go with just about every item of clothing. I’m loving these vegan pointy toe booties, which are somehow simultaneously edgy and elegant. Sign me up!

Bhava Lace-Up Heel Bootie, $279

Nicora Ankle Boot, $249
