Sassy and passionate, Anagha Joshi, based out of Bangalore, believes that the most inspirational interiors are crafted out of beautiful spaces, materials and natural light. From residential projects to corporate interiors, she is one Designer to look out for. DesignBids congratulates Anagha Joshi for being selected as Designer of the Month.

Tell us something about yourself?

I am an architect and interior designer with more than 6 years of experience in the construction industry. The key factors that play a pivotal role in the creation of inspiring architecture are fine detailing and great craftsmanship. Our team of architects, interior designers, landscape consultants, liaisons, structural consultants, plumbers and certified electricians, stringently strive to help clients realize their dream home. With ready expertise and constant passion, the difficulty of planning and building a project is efficiently handled. We maximize the potential of a site with our creative approach to design.

How did you get started in the design industry?

Designing is something that comes naturally to one, and which gets nurtured over a period of time through one's experiences. While practicing as a designer with a company, I started realizing that I have my own imagination/vision for things, which made me take a step towards the design industry.

Are there any new trends that you have fallen in love with?

Interior designing has so many elements and new materials coming into the market that sometimes certain elements become a trend. I love the trend of using lights in interiors not only for the purpose of illumination but to create interesting shadows through hanging lamps, screens or jalis, etc.

Can you talk of few projects that you have worked on?

Some of my recent projects in Bangalore are:

Mr. Gaureesh Shenoy's Residence in Astral Eternity, Kadubeesanahalli, Outer Ring Road

The most positive aspect of this 1100 sq.ft. 2BHK is that all the spaces in the house are defined properly. Natural light helped in enhancing the interiors with darker colors.

Mr. Tapas Chakrabarti's Home in Hiranandani, Club Meadows, Bannerghata Road

This 1250 sq.ft. 3 BHK house on the 18th floor has ample natural light and ventilation. The bronze bowls, antique mirrors and various artifact collections by the client himself, perfectly blends with the veneer n duco surfaces. The cove ceiling with jalis and different lampshades create an interesting mix of light and shade.

Mr. Kuldeep Misri's Apartment in Mantri Classic, Bannerghata Main Road

The interesting task in this project was to design for a family who were already staying in the house with half-ready wardrobes. It's a duplex house of 1600 sq.ft. with a private terrace.

Currently, I am working on Mr. Abhishek's home project in Bangalore.

Is there any particular element/style that you often use in your design?

I try to incorporate jalis and mirrors as much as possible, to create that amazing aura and at the same time it's a pocket-friendly solution too.

How would you define your personal style?

I am modern yet elegant. My work mostly reflects a sense of my style along with the client's of course.

What are the main challenges that you face as a designer?

Most designers would agree with me that the main challenge we face is to convince clients to approve our design. Every client is different and so are their requirements. One has to wait patiently for the client’s feedback before getting the final draft prepared. The key to getting projects depends on persistently applying to relevant projects. Though one might not be selected always, but perseverance is the key word.

It is important that the designer has a profile worth dying for. Honestly, the value of a designer is seen through their portfolio and there lies the main secret to nailing projects through DesignBids.

Designer-client meeting is the next hardest nut to crack. Both parties have to be prepared for the same. While the client should be honest about all his requirements; the designer should know how to create that first impression, so that the client can place full confidence in the designer.

What is the best thing clients say about you?

My clients have one thing common to say about me and that is I understand their requirements fully and support them even after the project has been completed.

Describe your association with Designbids?

My association with DesignBids has been for more than 6 months now. The sail so far has been great. I have been consistently getting projects through their portal and especially from their ‘Hire a Designer’ section. The process is simple too. Just bid on the project you like best and once you are selected, you meet the client to know their requirements. One doesn’t have to wait for ages after bidding for a project. The process is smooth and I am really happy with the way things have been turning out.

How different is it working with DesignBids?

Every platform has its own specialty. I find DesignBids to be unique with respect to the quality of projects that are floated on their website as well as their transparent nature. It also has a better way of shortlisting first and then connecting the designer to the client. With this, the client already has a prior idea about the previous projects as well as the work style of the designer.

DesignBids wishes Anagha Joshi the best of luck in all her future endeavors.
