Britznbeatz caught up with David Mark Bulley prior to The Confessions Tour!
Tell me what you have planned for your Confessions tour in 2018? What can fans and new listeners alike expect?
I'm excited to play songs from the album live that I haven't had the opportunity to perform yet and you may well hear some new music!
2017 was very busy for you from songwriting, releasing your single, video and album as well as travelling and touring. What were your highlights?
It's taught me a lot about touring as I was on tour from February until December and it has allowed me to experiment with the way I perform and go about things and it has helped with my writing. The highlight for me was moving away from my management as it allowed me to breathe and to be myself.
And the biggest challenges?
I've had a lot going on in my personal life which has affected my work but has also inspired my songwriting. I am releasing a documentary later this year which will reveal more about that.
Favourite city to perform in and why?
I love all the places I have performed at but Paris is a firm favourite as it was one of the first places I performed at outside the UK so it will always have a special place in my heart.
Who or what is inspiring you at the moment?
I surrounded myself with a lot of toxic people and I kinda lost myself a bit but now that I have removed myself from that circle it has inspired me to write some great songs for my new album.
Top 5 favourite songs of 2017
1 'Tell Me You Love Me' - Demi Lovato
2 'No Goodbyes' - Dua Lipa
3 'Paramore' - Hard Times
4 'Attention' - Charlie Puth
5 'Havana' - Camila Cabello
Dream collaboration?
My dream collaboration would be with the Chainsmokers because they are epic!
What keeps you awake at night?
Music! When I'm creative I'm in that bubble where I have to do it there and then even if it's at 3 am!
There is a film being made about your life - who would play you and why?
People say that I look like Andrew Garfield even though I don't see the resemblance myself but sadly I don't have superpowers like Spiderman!
What's the first thing you do when you get back home after travelling?
Buy a packet of crisps! it's a really strange thing to do but as soon as I land I buy four bags of British crisps!
Guilty pleasures?
My guilty pleasure is lighting several candles and watching people's YouTube vlogs!
What advice can you give for young singer-songwriters just starting out?
Just remember why you are doing this and always remember that it is not going to be plain sailing! You have to do some hard graft and fight your way through it if you want it bad enough.
New year's resolution?
To not take everything so seriously this year, just live in the moment and not have any expectations.
